Today we released the ultimate guide to dbt - a one-stop-shop for anyone hoping to learn what the dbt hype is about, pick up some curated tips from experts, or anything in between.

You can see the guide here.

The guide is best viewed on your desktop. If you're on mobile, we suggest reading the following blog post instead to get the highlights.

Why a dbt canvas?

It is increasingly rare to find someone who hasn't at least heard of dbt, but to master it is a different story. It is a powerful tool, and as such can be intimidating to those that are new, or even those that know the basics but want to keep learning.

So, we wanted to create a resource that summarized the key points to know about dbt, for beginners and experts alike.

For a week, I dove deep into every page of dbt's documentation, read over 40 articles, looked through countless reddit, discourse, and Slack threads, and asked for guidance from a few friends far more knowledgeable about dbt than I am.

The result is this canvas. If you're brand new to dbt, we hope it can give you a more thorough understanding of why it exists, and how people are using it. If you're already using dbt, then we hope you can learn a few new tips and tricks. And if you're an expert, then maybe you could let us know what we should add next!

How to contribute

Ideally, this is a living guide - one that will be just as relevant in 6 months as it is today. In order for that to happen, we'll need to rely on people submitting suggestions and new resources to be included.

You can send all contribution ideas to taylor[at]count[dot]co 🙌.
